I do not know why exactly this means that we cannot be in a relationship. It was not her wish to end it, but she did anyway. I do not understand. [The lack of understanding seems to be really getting to him, if the way he pets Loyalty is any indication.]

Come here, Justice. [Riona scoots over on the bed to make room for Justice to sit.] If she was that unwilling, then she did it because she felt it was best for you both. Though I'm going to admit, I'm a little confused as well by her reasoning. It's... very presumptuous on her part.

We talked about love conceptually before, but we both agreed that our arrangement was not to be exclusive. We never discussed falling in love with each other.

That's the thing about love. It's not something you can discuss or plan ahead for. [His additional information makes this all the more curious.] So, you agreed you didn't have to be exclusive with each other. Which means you would both be free to pursue other people. Then, why end things? Why did she feel like you weren't free to find love with someone else if you weren't monogamous? [She pauses, and adds:] These are rhetorical. I know you don't have the answers.
